Home decorating ideas for the inside of your home usually take precedent over the outside. While curb appeal projects can take up a huge part of your budget if you invest in landscaping, exterior house painting, and so on, there are some minor projects you can tackle that will make a big difference. Just like the inside of your home, you get the biggest bang for your buck with a can of paint. A bold color on your front door will make all the difference. Here are some of our favorite paint colors for front doors here at New Life Painting.
Red
While some people shy away from using such a bold red on their front door, it is truly one of the most welcoming exterior paint colors. Choose a red that complements the other colors on the exterior of your home. You can use a high gloss fire engine red to make a dramatic statement or tone it down with more of a paprika shade for something warmer.
Orange
Orange looks amazing next to a dark charcoal exterior or any dark exterior house colors like gray or navy. Draw inspiration from a beautiful Grover Beach sunset or any Central Coast sunrise. Somehow those shades of orange are calming and inviting, which is ideal for that homey, welcoming atmosphere.
Yellow
Yellow paint for a front door is a great choice because the options are endless. For a more muted look, go for a mustard yellow. If you want a bright and cheery welcome, choose a lemony high gloss yellow. Yellow really goes with almost any exterior house color, too. Like orange, it is so vibrant against a dark gray home, but also looks amazing on a white shingled beach house.
Lime Green
We just could not exclude lime green from our list of favorite bold colors, especially for homes in the Central Coast area. Surprisingly, lime green goes well with exterior house colors that may have a harder time with other bold colors. Lime green pairs so well with plums, browns, and even reds.
